DOME Property Management, Inc. has been providing professional property management services since 1987; managing all types of property in the New York metropolitan area and beyond.
DOME was built on the premise that every property, and every Board, is different. We customize our service to each property and assignment, to satsify the different requirements of every property and Board.
Our goal is to ease your concerns by providing prompt, high-quality, yet affordable, management services. Unlike many other management companies, we are intuitive and proactive, avoiding problems before they occur.
We are a family owned and operated business, with family members always on-site and accountable. We are big enough to get the job done right, but small enough to care about each and every client.

Snow
SNOW SNOW SNOW
MOVE YOUR CAR WHEN YOU SEE (OR HEAR) THE PLOW: The costliest and most dangerous problem happens when snow is pushed back into the street after the plow leaves. Many complain the plow blocks their car and they have no alternative. HERE'S A SOLUTION… When you hear the plow in your community, move your car away from one side of the street so that the plow can completely clear that side. When that side is cleared, move your car back.
DO NOT THROW SNOW INTO THE STREET: Put it in piles, on your lawn, and/or next to your sidewalk, driveway, etc. When you throw snow into the street it creates a hazardous condition and COSTS YOU AND YOUR ASSOCIATION MONEY FOR ADDITIONAL SNOW REMOVAL, SALTING, ETC.
Remember that plows do not start until after the storm stops, and that not every property can be first (vendors rotate properties so that those that were plowed later are plowed earlier after the next storm).
2022 marks DOME’s 35th year serving the New York metropolitan area.
Through the decades we have managed community associations, shopping centers, apartment buildings and many other property types, for homeowners, individuals, the Courts, banks, developers and corporate property owners of all sizes, becoming Staten Island’s largest professional property management company along the way.

#DOMEsnow : IMPORTANT SNOW SUGGESTIONS
SNOW SUGGESTIONS
To best prepare for a snow storm, please read the following.
As always, the biggest problems usually are (a) not enough places to put the snow; (b) people throwing snow back into the street after it is plowed; (c) driveways being blocked by snow / cars; and (d) the roadways freezing as the snow begins to melt and the temperature drops.
While we haven’t yet figured out how to stop the snow, after all of these years we have developed a few solutions to minimize the danger and cost of a snow event.
Please keep in mind that (a) most snow contracts do not take effect until after a specified number of inches of snow have fallen (typically 3 or 4 inches); (b) except for severe snowstorms, snow clearing does not begin until after the snow has stopped falling; and (c) not everyone can be the first to have their snow removed, so please be patient.
The New York City Administrative Code (a) requires all property owners to clear their walkways within 4 hours after the snow has stopped falling (or by 11:00 AM if the snow has stopped falling after 9:00 PM the previous evening), and (b)forbids property owners from throwing snow into the street. It also provides that “if the snow or ice becomes frozen so hard that it cannot be removed, the sidewalk may be strewn with ashes, sand, sawdust, or similar suitable material within the same time limits. The sidewalk must be thoroughly cleaned as soon as the weather permits.”
WHY SHOULD YOUR ASSOCIATION ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS?
BEFORE THE STORM
SNOW COORDINATOR
The Board should designate someone to coordinate the snow process with your vendor. When the plow arrives, the Snow Coordinator will be outside working with the vendor to make sure that the snow is moved as efficiently as possible.
DESIGNATED SNOW AREAS:
If you have limited areas to place the snow, you should arrange a meeting with your snow vendor (and property manager) to designate “Snow Placement Areas” for the snow. You can even have signs placed at those areas clearly identifying SNOW NO PARKING AREAS.
